The first meeting of the SIGOSSEE project - Bremen, February 26/27 2004
Amsterdam - 26/27 Feb 2004 - The SIGOSSEE project got off to a flying start at its kick-off meeting at ITB, Bremen, Germany, this week, with the working groups setting themselves some very concrete aims and objectives for the coming three months before the next project meeting in Ireland. The general feeling is one of great optimism for the project's future and its intended outcomes. Of note was the presence of several representatives of groups interested but not at the moment directly involved in the project. More details will follow in the full report on the kick-off. The project members are looking forward to the initial reports back from the groups over the next few weeks with the initial agreed deliverables, going into the Irish meeting with a clear vision of the direction of the project and what can be achieved not only during its lifetime, but far into the future. We expect a great deal of activity on the SIGOSSEE website over the coming months with much informed discussion and debate, as well as the development of new standards-based tools to further enable this. The project has attracted great interest around the world since its inception - SIGOSSEE aims to be the conduit through which the OSS and eLearning communities can find a unified voice.
