As part of the upgrade, of the site, we're rebuilding the content areas a piece at a time, porting them into the Site-Content infrastructure that KnowNet developed for the NGRF project. We'll be posting updates here as each area is rebuilt.

We have begin the process of re-building ossite's content in a more modern infrastructre. We are well aware that members and partners have gad great difficulty in creating worthwhile and usable content using the previous system. Over the past 10 months, KnowNet has been developing a new framework for end-user creation of heavyweight content for the NGRF site. While these improvements are still far from 'productised' they will go some way towards making it easier for content-area maintainers in the projects to create the kind of content they want.

So far, we have ported the front page, the SIG Working Groups area, and the SIG Partners areas, and have created a new content area for the shared weblogs. We'll be porting the other main site areas as soon as possible, and the naddressing the issue of the members areas. We'll also be working hard to write instructions and how-tos for making effective use of the new framework. In the meantime, the weblogs provide a very free way to create content without having to worry about navigational structure.

Watch this blog for further news on the ongoing improvements.
