Join Project
The main task of the Join Project is providing consultancy and support for organization/institutions that want to employ Open Source Learning Management Systems in all relevant topics ranging from the choice of a platform, didactics and organisational issues.
Employing Open Source Software (OSS) for e-Learning saves expenses for any organization intending to provide e-Learning. On the other hand, employing OSS poses a risk since it's difficult to measure the quality and the future availability of OS-LMS.
In this sense the Join objectives are:
- Provision of interested organisations/institutions with a product/market overview of OS-LMS in Europe. JOIN will analyse and asses the quality and sustainability of the products in terms of standard conformity and th like.
- Analisys of current e-Learning practices in the four target user groups: universities, schools, public administrations and SMEs in order to prepare best practices.
- Dissemination of technical knowhow, didactical and organisational concepts for the varous e-Learning purposes specific to the curricular need of a society.
The project partners (University of Cologne for France, University of Vigo for Spain, Rectorat de Bordeaux for France and KSolutions for Italy) have set up their own section of the site where people interested can find information in their own native language.
In this part of the site english spoken people can find information and documentation regarding what partners have done during the project time. In particular, in:
- LMS section are available all product sheets and evaluation sheets for the OS-LMS examinated.
- DOC section you can find all the public documents and materials usefull for all the people interested in e-Learning matter.
We are confident that our work will contribute towards a wider diffusion and a better knowledge of Open Source e-Learning Software.
