Open source, standards and architectures in education. Current question: would OpenDoc be available if it was open source?

This is a shared weblog for participants in the Standards and Architectures Working Group of the SIGOSSEE Project. We will be using this space for exploring and debating the history of "open" in educational software -open source, open standards and open architecures.

Our focus will be moving over time, beginning with some deliberately provocative questions.
